editing updates

So today myself and Alice started putting our footage together using final cut pro. Once we had put all the footage onto the computer we had noticed there was not enough to finish the song, we then had to go off and re film most of our footage as we realised we could improve what we had already made.

Once we had finally recorded more shots we then imported them into the computer and put them together on final cut pro. We started adding slow motion onto some shots to add more dramatic shots as it was a slow paced song. As you can see on the image we have put some slow motion on the shot where the female character is running away from her friends, we thought this made the shot more exaggerated.
Once putting slow motion on, we then thought about the conventions of a slow song as some have a black and white effect so we thought we could try it out, in the end we thought it worked really well with the slow motion, it made it very effective.

Instead of the screen going black at the end of our product, we put a fade out effect on making it more effective when the character falls onto her bed.

We wanted the character to reflect back on the good memories she had with her friends and boyfriend so we decided to over lay some of the shots and made the happy memories in colour whilst reality is in the background in black and white. We thought this would make our product more realistic.

As well as overlaying some shots we also slowed the good memories down to make it more effective.

 New Music Video

Due to changing our idea of our music video completely we have had to re film and re edit our product. This image shows the start of our new product being put together and getting all the shots in the correct places.
Once we had imported all our footage onto the programme and put them in the right order we started playing around with the speed of each shot to fit with the rhythm of the song, in the photo on the right it shows us speeding some of the footage up, once we had done a couple of shots we wanted most of our footage sped up.
In the photo on the right it shows us inserting the song we had chosen, we did struggle to put the song onto the programme due to technical difficulties but  once we had sorted it we got on with speeding the shots up were the beat of the song sped up too.
In the shot on the left, it shows us creating a spilt screen, the reason we did this was because we wanted to emphasise the fact the character had 3 different personalities and we thought that by creating a spilt screen the audience would understand our storyline a lot more clearly.
Once we had created the spilt screens we realised we had too much footage, so in this image you can see we were cutting down and removing some shots we found we could remove.
